Volunteers

Connecting the Dots...
Cancer Kids for Christ serves as a ministry of the church body connecting the dots for cancer families. The dots represent the many needs and issues that arise during the duration of the cancer battle. Each step from diagnosis to the completion of therapy requires unique attention that as a team volunteer, will afford you the opportunity to make a lasting impression on the life of each child and their family. By joining the Cancer Kids For Christ team you will be joining the fight of a lifetime. Childhood cancer is a battle, one which cannot be waged alone. Furthermore, as a member of the team, you may choose to be involved at any level you find comfortable. And since cancer does not discriminate in any way, volunteers of all backgrounds and experiences are needed worldwide.

Where to Serve:

  • Locally volunteers will touch each child in their own community.
  • Nationally volunteers will connect families to a local church body and build relationships with Family Service Partners.
  • Globally volunteer teams will join together with International Partners to help provide care and provision for cancer children around the world.

How to Serve:

  • Prayer - Everyone can join us by lifting the child's needs to our Lord in Prayer.  Local volunteers may in extreme times of difficulty be called to mobilize a Prayer Vigil.
  • Counseling - Experienced counselors are needed as lead team members in communities accross the United States.
  • Home and Hospital Visitation - Volunteers of all backgrounds may help support the family during times of physical duress either at home or in the hospital.
  • Meals - Meals in and out of hospital can at times be a challenge. Volunteers may facilitate meals for hospital-bound families and long treatment days.
  • Household Chores - Furthermore, volunteers may also assist with the home as basic chores may become overwelming to the parents.

Just for Fun:

  • Annual Holiday Parties - Volunteers are needed to assist and help faciliate events such as Easter and Christmas Parties designed for the childhood cancer community at large.
  • Family Outings and Picnics - Volunteers may help with day adventures to local parks or theme parks designed to bring the community of cancer soldiers together.
  • Overnight Adventures - Volunteers interested in camping, hiking, zoos and outdoor adventures may find yourselves helping children and their families get away from the hectic life of the cancer world.

Volunteer* for our Annual Father & Son Strong Tower Retreat
    * Volunteers must raise $280.00 for a father and son volunteer team or $140.00 for an individual volunteer.
  • Off-Therapy Celebrations - As a volunteer, you may also help organize Off-Therapy and Beyond The Cure Date celebrations for children in your community. Or you could get involved with the annual Off Therapy Celebration held in the Metro Atlanta Community.
